There are times when you have a good movie or a trailer clip in your Ipod device and want to watch it in your big screen LCD TV at home. For those times, Apple has the Composite AV cable that lets you connect your Ipod (or Iphone) with your TV.
I managed to get one to try it out. A good friend of mine let me use it for a couple of hours to play with it. Retail price for this little accesory is US$39
Back from the tiny box. It supports Ipod classic, Iphone, Ipod Touch and Ipad. This is the second release of the product. The previous version comes in a black box and it doesnt support the latest Apple products.
Contents of the box are the RCA with USB All-in-one cable, user manual and Apple one year warranty booklet.
The details of the cable is similar as Apple products. The only bad thing (in my opinion) is that you can only reproduce videos or pictures from your device to the TV when your Ipod is in "video" mode (or in slideshow in the case of the pictures).
If you have games or apps installed they wont appear in the screen of your TV. I tried even to see if the integrated video camera showed up in the screen but it doesnt. Lets hope in future versions of the iOS you can do this things.
For the moment, Drossel is taking away the AV cable to his original owner.
