Went today to the license issuing center to see if I could renew my drivers license. Turns out that I was one month late renewing it and that could result to me in penalty transit tickets.I've had driver's license for nearly two years but I've been driving for only one year. ^^
Here are the receipts I had to pay for extend my license's life.Besides paying the dues, you also need to do an eye exam to ensure you have a decent eye vision for driving.
In many guatemalan facilities it is forbidden to take pictures without consent of a higher authority (thats the reason the pictures look kind of blurry).Maybe next time will ask for a proper permission to take pictures.
Waiting area with a screen where your name appears when your license card is ready -no need to yell your name which is very convenient.
Here is my new card. Didnt took pictures of my old card which had a different design. Now before leaving the center I only need to confirm that my details are correct.
The hole process took around 2 hours including lining up, paying and waiting.

wow you still need to do exams, even thought you have you licence, well its understandable.

I went in to take mine renewed. I got a temporary card, and I then had to wait about a week for me to get mine in the mail. Some pain, I went to ALA on my temporary card.

@Shin Asuka: We used to had laminated cards but many years ago.
2 hours sounds like a long time to wait around. Here, the process takes less than an hour, and they mail you a new card a week later.
