Those of you that have been following me in the blog will know that part of my baggage during my trip in Panama was robbed . Well, for those who didnt know, let me tell you the hole story:
During the last day of my trip, in my flight back home I checked my baggage as ussual with the airline and everything was ok. I had even being a little early in the airport to avoid any problems. When I arrived at my final destination, my baggage didnt appeared. Nobody in the airline could tell me exactly what just happened with my belongings, but they assured me that my things will (eventually) appear so my chances were to go home and call later asking for my stuff.
So I went home with my hands empty, because all the souvenirs for my family (and my clothes) were actually in the baggage. The next day I called by phone asking for my bags but no news about it.
My bags appeared the next day (I arrived at sunday and I got my stuff on tuesday) but the bags were all open and some stuff and money (what a genius of me putting money in my baggage) were missing.
Too bad it happened to me. I had hear stories about lost baggage in the airline but I didnt think it could happen to me and now Im one of the statistics.
My big mistake was not paying attention when I packed. Now that I think about it, I could avoid this event and all I have is the "what if"...because if I had put some attention to the stuff in my baggage when I packed probably nothing of this had happened.
The real lesson is
stuff you care should be with you in your hand baggage. Probably isnt possible all the times, but things like money and expensive souvenirs should.
I think I learned in the hard way.
