Panama in one day

View of Panama City from Casco Viejo

After being in Bogotá, I spent one entire day in Panama City. I arrived in saturday at night and I went home the next day (on sunday) to my country.

I visited Panama "in transit" and I choose to watch the city without take a tour from the airport.

Lets begin saying that I stayed in Hostal Balboa Bay, which isnt as good as it looks in the webpage. I certanly have my doubts about this international hostal for backpackers. The atmosphere of the hostel was very quiet and boring. It didnt had a lot of backpackers hosted and I really didnt like the service (believe me, I wouldnt return again).

However, when I was in my footsteps watching the city, I found a very cool place for backpackers, Luna's Castle with a lot of people staying in this hostel and it seemed very cool, right in front of Casco Viejo.

Ok, so I went to Casco Viejo, walked the near 4 miles of Balboa Ave. and visited Allbrook Mall and Multicentro Mall. In the night before, I went to Uruguay Street, a little outstanding street for dancing and drinking.

As for today, Im back home doing some damage control, because my baggage was lost in the airline when I arrived at my country's airport and Im calculating the losses, but generally speaking, I really liked it this one week adventure as a backpacker and no doubt I enjoyed at the maximum my days in Bogotá where I hope to return very soon.
