Last week i took my fifth certification exam. Im persuing the MCSE 2003 credential and i only need to pass 2 more tests. But with the next windows server 2008 release, a new set of certifications is coming right away: The MCTS and MCITP server 2008 certifications.
With the new IT certifications im a little overwhelming. However, the good thing is the number of exams you have to do to gain the new credentials (5 instead of 7 in the MCSE case), but i dont like the accumulative MCTS certifications. I mean, it will be a little messy to say MCTS: ISA server, SQL 2005, Windows Vista and so on in your resume. I liked the old way, when you had to pass 3 exams and earned some degree but i think its the same thing with MCPs.
Im planing to get my MCSE credential and then get the upgrade to windows server 2008. Then i will think about the MCITP.
