Apple has released the Ipod Nano 4G with a set of new features. First of all, Apple has decided to return to the narrow form factor of the 2G model for good which I like and feel more comfortable with this particular style and not the previous one (the "fatty" model).
The 4G brings as a feature to shuffle songs when shaken (I had seen this in Sony Ericsson cellphones), switch between portrait and landscape display modes and the use of a redesigned UI.
The display modes is a cool feature, specially for pictures, but I think if you plan to view movies they're only available in landscape display. Why Apple didnt give you the option to play your movies in portrait as well??
There's another new feature: "The Genius", which automatically creates playlists based on a selected song. If you are in a rush and dont feel like doing your own playlist, well, probably you might trust The Genius to find the same rhythm and taste for you.

Cool features Im still expecting to see and probably they will be realeased in the next Ipod generations: Use of Themes in your Ipod, a FM radio turner (they included a voice recording feature this time), bluetooth, capability of playing AVI files and color matching hearphones.
I wonder if you could play your mp4 or mkv movies downloaded from the cloud? I have a considerable anime collection in this format and use VLC player to watch them in my PC. Can I watch them in the Ipod without further process?
If its possible I will consider buying this Ipod for my own.

this new nano is really sleek tho..
if the size doesnt bother you why not take a look at the new ipod touch instead? more features packed in..
