Independence Celebration
Last September 15th was the Independence Day celebration in Guatemala (and in mostly all Central America). This holiday its celebrated with a lot of school parades everywhere in the city, but the greatest parade passes in front of the National Palace and Central Park.
I had planned to go downtown this day and take photos of the parade, so I woke up early and went to Central Park to find a good spot for taking pictures for this event.
It was an experience out of this world for me. Very illustrative and awesome! I found myself being in the middle of the parade instead of a merely observer.
At beggining I was side apart of the parade, but moments later I saw a group of people taking photos, the exact same way as I thought I should be taking it. What a surprise for me, to find out a Flickr group from my country in front of my eyes.
They help me to get out of the closet, and to be inside the parade taking pictures. My gear wasnt as professional like theirs. I was using my Canon powershot 570 IS but I think I took amazing pictures.
